Side by side with the Compact Orchestra

Each two years, given or taken, the Kammerphilharmonie Graubünden plays with nonprofessional musicians, the already well known project “Side by side”. This time we have the opportunity of playing with the young musicians of the ORCHESTERcompact, orchestra of the Bündner Kantonsschule.

But this time is special. In 2019 the Musikschule Chur celebrates its 100th anniversary and the Kammerphilharmonie Graubünden its 30th! There is no better reason to celebrate both anniversaries together with an orchestral project!

Then, both orchestras toghether play a rich program, which includes a work by our college Eckar Fritz, percussionist in the Kammerphilharmonie, specially composed for this event and this special combination of both a professional and a youth orchestra.

This a description of how build an augmented reality application I had to develope during the studies at the Rapperswil University of Applied Sciences . In order to provide documentation for future students, my teammate and I we decided to record some videos with our experiences.

Gion Antoni Derungs' Opera 'Il cerchel magic'

A short video from (already so long ago!!) 2012. It’s a short oboe solo in the opera ‘Il cerchel magic (1984)’, composed by the swiss composer Gion Antoni Derungs.

It is the first swiss opera written in Romansh, the exotic fourth official language in Switzerland. The two concerts we played were very special, as they were intended to present the concert’s version of the opera. The composer self, Derungs, reworked and arranged the opera for this version. But sadly he could not hear it, he sadly passed away on september 2012, just 3 months before the concerts.
